Earlier this year, the internet was overrun by Walmart’s Birkin dupe, otherwise known as the “Wirkin” (Walmart Birkin), otherwise known as the “Firkin” (Fake Birkin), otherwise known as the sub-$100 look-alike for Hermès‘ most coveted bag. The trending accessory quickly garnered the attention of fashion critics, social media influencers and celebrities alike, including TV personality and handbag collector Bethenny Frankel, who even took to TikTok to do a side-by-side comparison of the two.
And while the Kamugo Genuine Leather Bag, the original model behind the viral sensation, has since been discontinued on walmart.com, a slew of other models in top-grain leather, PU leather and crocodile-embossed cowhide have since popped up in its place. Amazon, too, is now seeing an influx of Birkin and Kelly dupes (here’s another from Amazon and another from Walmart).
But the real star of the show is that Walmart is now giving customers a way to save on authentic Birkins. This is all thanks to its official partnership with Rebag, one of the most trusted sources for pre-owned designer goods.
